That must be amazing - what a lovely place to have it.
Thank you, yeah I liked the hood too ;-) The gown...well, I had issues with it riding up at the front cos of the hood - as you can see on the picture, you hook it under a button on your shirt, but it kinda doesn't stay...I'd recommend taking safety pins! But it does feel quite cool to be wearing one. And the mortar board...it did groove to have one (as opposed to the silly cap women used to have to wear), but mine was too big and kept sliding off - I was really worried it was going to fall off as I was descending the steps after shaking the Chancellor's hand! Luckily it was ok, it just started to slip to a jaunty angle ;-) In case this happens to you, I'd recommend taking kirby grips to secure it your hair. I saw some people who did this, and it worked.
And I agree about the anticlimax finishing school - at least this marks the end of uni in a formal, proper way - instead of just tailing off in an apologetic fashion.
