I mean... I like the SB the way it is because it's the SB, and I find the fact that it still uses a format that mostly seems to have died out everywhere else on the internet kind of charming.
Still, I definitely find linear formats like bulletin boards or blogs easier to read, because then you've got everything in one place, so you don't have to click on every comment separately.
