I've always been a fan of the threaded format here, as opposed to linear boards. On LJ I have to keep track of the number of comments to know if there are new ones, and even then I don't know if it's a subthread I'm interested in or not. Of course, I could have it set so that the link changes colour when I have unread comments, but in writing my last two (three?) layouts I've forgotten to do that :0P
Of course, my friends list is a LOT higher traffic than this board has ever been.
Speaking purely of aesthetics, obviously I prefer my LJ because I designed and coded it myself. Although I was very fond of the old style SB too (when it had coloured names and nicer coloured links and a blacker background rather than the increasingly blue ones.) I miss §ev POOP ;0)
