From an art standpoint... ..maybe that could be done. From a shooting standpoint, it is the proper two handed grip. The fact he's a lefty notwithstanding. Lightening up the shadow will help register the other arm in the viewer's eye, perhaps providing the additional information needed to end the illusion.
