No. The reason the boottm of the laptop gets hot is because the proccessor is working a lot to run whatever it is that you are doing. This is also why you can hear the fan. One way to keep it cooler would be to get one of those laptop computer platforms that has the fans built in to help keep your laptop cooler. Also don't place it flat on a surface, that stops the built in fan from being as effective.
