I'm going to be having a 3-hour GTT next week and excpet to feel terrible. I know it's not the best, but my endo is old school. Because I've changed my diet so much (thanks to help from your website) I'm not experiencing drastic swings. So once I started seeing him, and received my monitor, I don't have a lot to show him. He actually told me I was foolish for wanting the test! But I pressed him and he gave in. Only for a 3-hour, but with insulin draws so at least we'll have something to work with. I just need some sort of proof. (A friend suggested bringing my glucose monitor and testing myself at the same time to see how accurate mine is.) At least with a 3-hour, I can eat a little sooner, lol! My husband will come with me to supervise and be an advocate, if need be. My other, main concern, is that my cortisol will rise so much I'll need to take blood pressure medicine. I'll be taking my cuff to monitor that as well. Depending on what this shows, I might push for a teaching doctor, instead. I think I might also take the test not at the site closest to home, but closest to a hospital, just in case. Thanks once again for all your advice. I even recommended your blog to the nutritionist I just saw for the first time.Natalie
