Occasionally, you will see reviews of Ross's tgnihcaes where someone will say SS is okay, but it's just NLP with some Milton Erickson type indirect hypnosis and story telling tossed in to add a little. Yet if you've ever tried to pick up these abilities, say Belief Busting techninques, by reading someone like Robert Dilts and his Slight of Mouth book, you can feel a big difference. If you are use to Ross's SS frames of teaching then Dilt's material is downright boring, and only part of the difference is because seduction is more fun. The typical NLP guru has a much narrower range then Ross's. Ross is aware of the mechanics and techniques of Belief Busting and he is entertaining teaching those, but the way he teaches exceeds the limitations of mere mechanical techniques. This right here and now from his free blog: Why do you think I give guys tools for meditation? So you can create ***spaciousness**** in your consciousness and Room to see your old beliefs and patterns WITHOUT BUYING BACK INTO THEM. Extract whatever useful and accurate info might be there, then move to something more fun, Most NLP gurus would never say that first quote as it is a bit too magical for their taste, and besides, meditation and/or spaciousness of consciousness would be concidered outside the scope of their technology. But those are ironically THEIR LIMITING BELIEFS. And the second quote you might have to look through a couple hundred pages to find a line that lively. Fortunately, Ross instructs from a ***spacious****, directly practical, and fun viewpoint.
