Annette MayAugust 6, 2011This is such an awesome thing to do. There are so many peolpe who have it worse than I do but I have struggled with homelessness, unemployment, abuse, and trauma. I am leaving my native So. Illinois for Portland, Oregon the 2nd time because there are no jobs here. My family is from here and I don't have the transportation to get anywhere. I am going to be staying with friends and hopefully get an apartment through the housing authority. A good friend of mine from Portland bought me a one way plane ticket and I am getting on that plane August 8th with no money in my pocket. I cannot receive any help to even pay the $25 the airline charges for a piece of luggage so I'm once again having to start from scratch. It gets old fast. I've had to walk everywhere, go to soup kitchens to get a free meal, especially on the holidays. My health is declining and I'm in extreme need of medical and dental insurance. I'm 47 years old and have nothing to show for it. The best thing to come out of the past 5 years of my life living in OR and IL is that I went to college for 3 years and graduated with an A. I don't have the best credit in the world but I do pass a background check so I have hopes and dreams and plan A's and B's. I hope you this bus comes to Portland because the homeless there would also have something to say. Have a great tour.Annette May
