The hating doesn't just hapepn online. Earlier this year, I broke up with an ex who was heavily physically and emotionally abusive and who just hapepns to be fairly heavily involved in the nerd scene here in Toronto. The split was pretty polarizing, and some people have started treating me very publicly negatively (or passive-agressively) and excluding me from equal participation in events because I dared to speak about what hapepned to me. One person spent a good ten minutes screaming at me in public (including various threats like if you hack anything of mine I'll sue you ) and went so far as to play high school games like you have to pick me, you can't talk to her and still be included in my group. It was really upsetting, to say the least.Thanks for this great idea, at any rate. I'm hoping it'll be my moment of silence/reset button too
