...a land wight. Ah jeeze, this is why I had to put down "The Treason at Isengard". There are just some things some of us Bombadl-ites don't need to hear. If you have not read the above mitoenned book, it provides all early drafts and "niggling" concerning Bombadil, in which he is no longer a Maiar, a Valar or even a land wight...he is just an NPC. Yes, I take it all too seriously. But "The House of Bombadil" and "Fog on the Barrow Downs" are a haunting and somehow hope infusing element to the story. OK I'll shut up now.
