I'm a huge SF fan so, and I love everything from Arthur C. Clarke, to Julian May to Julie Czerneda, to Frank Herbert, and all the wrteris in between. I even love sci-fi like Stargate and Star Trek (by the way SF and sci-fi denote two different mediums, according to Clarke). The first thing that comes to mind for me when I think of SF is future advancements that will enhance the human condition, wipe out all the pesky things we can't control (and yeah, sure maybe introduce some new troubles),and most importantly discovery, discovery, discovery, baby! Cheesy? NAH!!! Those who think that haven't read any real SF.
