Hi MarshallYou make a good point. I appreciate your passoin for the Presidency of the Holy Spirit, and I agree in spirit with what you’re saying … especially, as it relates to gathering or meeting together (or hosting a meeting). This organic fluidity, created by the Spirit, is without question powerful. In my post, I’m referring more to an intentional, missional community that enjoys a communal way of life together—yes, they gather or meet together, but these get-togethers are one small part of their shared life together, consistently living out the more than thirty “one another†exhortations. To the organic fluidity you described, I think, apostolic intentionality—which also requires Holy Spirit enabling (and even more so!)—is vital for a functioning, sustainable Kingdom family that’s alive, in love and on mission together. Please don’t be tripped up by my use of the phrase “start a simple churchâ€. It’s a question that many people ask when they first start out on this journey, and I’m attempting to begin where many people are at. By “start†I’m referring to that moment in God when someone realises the importance of journeying together with a primary set of relationships, and asks, “What does this look like?†and “How do I move towards this?â€Make sense?
