Dalton. Chappy 4 Sep 2012, 0251 hoursThank you Sir. Great perspectve. John Smith 4 Sep 2012, 1722 hoursRead the book today. Owen is obosvuily a highly-trained and skilled warrior, who, by his own description, had the good fortune to be chosen for a historic mission. He is somewhat disrespectful to the Commander-in-Chief, but his book is not a part of any 2012-version of the Swift Boat effort. Had it in fact been part of such an effort, that would have been real news and would have done grave damage to the principle and tradition of non-partisan military service. As for disclosing sensitive information, what struck me as a possibly important indiscretion was the disclosure that the team ran out of time to grab as much as possible intel from the compound as they might have if they'd had more time. If there's any villain here, it's Fox News. It's a hall-of-mirrors exercise to figure out why they published his true name: were the right-wing ideologues at the top of the organization disappointed Owen was not willing to act as more of a cat's paw to discredit the President? Regardless of their motives, disclosing his name was truly irresponsible, and should earn Fox News the burning enmity of every Tier One operative, their friends and families, and anyone who cares about protecting the safety of military service men and women. Mike Millard 4 Sep 2012, 2149 hoursDalton class act as always Sir. You Sir have earned the right and credibility to comment on a matter that 99.99% of us do not have. I have shared this with many who have likewise done the same. Thank you for taking a stand for a mate. But then, I would have not expected any less. Once a Warrior, always a Warrior. DS&S Tactical 5 Sep 2012, 0553 hoursThank you for standing up and saying enough is enough. What they are doing is wrong.I fear for Owen I fear for all operators. I dispise fox news whom always seems on our side. Ranger Proud 6 Sep 2012, 1423 hoursI read No Easy Day with a very critical eye, searching for any disclosures of classified information. I could find none. The reason the administration is going after Owen's is that his version of the events did not confirmed that of the White House.I am amazed that the administration has the unmitigated gall to go after Owen's when they are leaking classified information like Wikileaks. Max 10 Sep 2012, 0241 hoursMark Owen doesn't present himself as a whistleblower. He says the book is not political, it's not meant to expose any secrets, it's just telling an inspiring story. Ok, then why not submit it to pre-publication review?! That's the real problem here. Even Jose Rodriguez, the CIA guy in charge of waterboarding, says he submitted his book, Hard Measures, to pre-publication review. Did Dalton Fury have his book properly vetted? 11 Sep 2012, 1806 hoursMax, good question. Kill Bin Laden was submitted to US SOCOM for review 18 months before release. It was also submitted to my former unit, the CIA, and DoD Office of Security Review.
