Janet,When a beloved
Janet,When a beloved pet pasess it is heart-breaking. Many years ago, we had a beautiful Golden Retriever. When she was 11 years old, she began not eating and was got quite ill. When she could go no more, we brought her to the vet and stayed with her until she was gone. Our hearts broke. That evening, in the quiet of our home, we felt Chelsey rest herself alongside the couch in her favorite spot. I knew Chelsey found her way home. When my husband and I went to bed that evening, we felt Chelsey as she pushed against the foot board of the bed while she settled in for the night. We just looked at each other, knowing that she was with us. One year to the day, my husband announced he was ready for another dog. That next day, I located a Golden Retriever/Lab mix and we went to pick her up from her breeder. Daisy came into our home a scared little puppy and stayed in her crate not knowing what was going on. Daisy then suddenly started snooping all over the house. Just as suddenly as she started, she stopped and curled up along side the couch in Chelsey's favorite spot and she was no longer scared. She took ownership of her new family and home. To this day, we believe that Chelsey greeted her and made her feel comfortable by showing Daisy all of her favorite spots to sleep, at the side of the couch, the end of our bed, and most importantly under my desk while I worked. We continue to sense Chelsey every once in a while, even through 2 moves. We figure she is just checking up on her favorite humans and making sure the puppy in the house was doing a good job. Chelsey never leaves my heart. She was a special one. I'm sure she has been showing Brunno the way around Heaven, running and playing with the other dogs, and chasing a cat every once in a while because that's what dogs do.
