Do your best to greet them within a miutne or so after they are seated.Pay attention to their order and make sure that it goes out right. If there is a mistake, apologize and get it fixed quickly.Enjoy yourself. People can tell whether or not you want to be there and their tip will reflect that perception. People feel good when they are around others who are happy and upbeat.Know the menu. Don't make it up as you go along and hope they don't notice. (Remember that there are secret shoppers.)Pick one special and dessert a day and sell it!Recognize and show appreciation to your co-workers who help you out (including hostesses, busboys, bartenders, cooks, etc.) Return the favor.Don't keep people waiting when they are ready to check out. Tips can quickly decrease at this point.Hope things work out well for you.
