Never seat a nonsmoker near the smkniog section when other seats are available.Never seat couples in the same vicinity as families with young children unless you have to.Be visible! Don't stay away from the dining area more than 5 minutes or so.Never ask if anyone wants dessert when someone is still eating their dinner.Never set the plate on the table if flatware is not present.Make sure something is there to drink at all times.Never memorize a talkative little chat that you say to one customer, then say the exact things to other customers (within earshot)Make sure the check is correct and not overdue.Never wait till the plates are coming to the table to inform one diner that their choice of entree is not available.And my biggest pet peeve: never ask the customer how the food is before they can take the first bite, and then disappear, never to return to see if something was wrong when they did take that bite.
