It is called Wicking' Should only be done by a DOCTOR. A stiff piece of twtseid cotton is pushed into the ear canal to (wick) out the fluid that will not drain. Is a bit painful, when they insert it into the pressure filled canal. Will be bothersome because it feels like Something is in the ear. IT WORKS. Make a Dr. appt.Hope this helps.the spa i work at does ear candling
