I found I needed to hold my bent leg tight and push it down to the table in order to keep my ribs flat on the table and then I was able to hang my leg down, but whiotut that extra help the gap appeared very quickly in my back. My knee seemed to hang down quite well, but my whole upper leg wasn't completely in contact with the table, if you get what I mean.
