The Monophysite Dispute was not really big engouh, and didn't have the monumental military struggles that the Latin Conquest had.Plus, the Monophysite Dispute happened far too early in the History of Byzantium for a decent mapping between the two.AND Tolkien seems to have avoided using such overt religious issues in the body of work, especially for simple historical events. Castamir may have represented a throwback to Ar-Pharazf4n's type, and thus to a group over which the Shadow had fallen, but I think Ar-Pharazf4n's fall into the Shadow is a better mapping to the Monophysite Dispute than the Kin-Strife. He just declared a bunch of people heretics for staying loyal to their faith in the Elvenkind and Valar. He didn't set out to wage a war of conquest (against his own people) that resulted in a Civil-War. Although he did kill many of his own people, it was through a religious hierarchy which it was accomplished.
