Have had five cats over the years, four still with us and none have ever been allowed to roam ortuoods.. Our first was an orange tabby with lots of blackhead issues on his chin. We tried EVERYTHING to deal with it and finally gave up. It was just black dust as far as we were all concerned. Flash forward, our female has horrible chin acne, her sibling has had bad acne, but mostly blackheads like our first cat. My wife checks the female's chin once a day and has spent up to fifteen minutes a day on a single zit. We usually see hard white pus (kind of like string cheese) come out. Sometimes we see the gooey stuff, but not as often. We've also seen these zits fill up in 12 hours and needing to be relieved again. After the zit's drained the cat is happy as heck! For what it's worth, I'm pretty convinced that cat chin acne has a pretty big genetic factor involved. We've tried every sort of food/water bowl available, daily cleansing of the cats with different detergents, benzoyl peroxide, you name it. Nothing seems to matter. The cats with it don't change much, the cats without it don't get it. I'm not in anyway discounting that some cats are very prone to it under certain circumstances (Eg: Plastic bowls, chin rubbing), but those are certainly not the only things that cause it.Next time my wife finds a big zit on our cats chin I'm going to have to get video of the poppage
