Kind of odd to ask the people for help on whose expense you want to make a joke, isn't it? :-P
Anyways, it's been aaages since I had to translate anything to Latin so...
I'm pretty sure the first half is correct, just not sure about the second one. Habere definitely requires the accusative (eruditionem), but I'm thinking that there should be a better way to word this, especially since I'm not sure you can use nimium like that... but I'm probably worrying too much about a dead language.
Anyways, since you have a Livejournal, why not hop over to the Latin community and ask there? With its over eight hundred members there should be at least a few people there who could make useful suggestions.
