Yes, the EU foreign pcoliy set-up headed by an apparent escapee from a municipal parks commitee is a mess. But do spare a thought for the Maltese chap. To save money we withdrew our 170-year old protection from the island in the '60s and also took away our support for the admittedly sleepy old King Idris (what's new) Malta is only a few minutes flying from Libya and I guess they feel they have to hedge their bets
