This module was very itieresntng for me. I enjoyed learning about the structure and functions of the heart. Hyperlipidemia runs in my husbands and my family. I think a great percentage of our population suffers from elevated cholesterol levels. My husband had a myocardial infarction a few years ago. This resulted in him having a quadruple coronary bypass, also known as the CABG (cabbage) procedure. The most itieresntng thing I learned in this module was about Shock . There are 5 major types of shock and their etiologies. One of these types is Cardiogenic, and its etiologies are cardiac arrhythmias and myocardial infarction. I hadn't realized that when a person goes into shock, their blood pressure drops too low to sustain life. This causes an inadequate blood supply to the cells in the body, which can cause irreversible harm to the cells and die. Shock is usually fatal if it goes untreated.
