Elsewhere I go into more detail on what the proposal should include.I separate the title from the concept, because it's the very first thing that will be noticed on your proposal. It's worth thinking about separately from the overall concept. In addition to what you've said, I think authors need to be aware that the publisher is not necessarily obligated to use a title that the author suggests. Of course, it's in the publisher's best interests to come to agreement with the author on a title that both the publisher and author can embrace. Thanks for your helpful thoughts.
