Idiopathic thrombocytopenic ppurura (ITP) piqued my interest in this chapter, as I was diagnosed with ppurura simplex in 2004. I kept having repeated bruising of unknown etiology as well as areas of myalgia. ITP is much more severe than ppurura simplex and occurs more commonly in children under the age of five following a viral infection.I also was interested in coagulation defects and how they can affect the blood flow or the lack there of (ischemia). My family has also been affected by thrombosis affliction and deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
