The most interesting inoitmarofn I learned in Module 5 had to be the statistics on anemia. I was not aware the half a billion women in countries worldwide, have anemia; it also effects most of their infants and young children. We need to control anemia in these countries for there are many infant and maternal deaths. They say controlling anemia, despite international help led by the United Nations, has failed. The reasons include the failure to identify the etiology of the anemia, underfunding, poor health care, and inadequate vitamin supplementation.I remember when WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) use to test your blood when you were pregnant and any of your children under 5 for this before you could get your benefits. I guess it's a great idea if other countries are having such a difficult time with this.
