I never knew there w
I never knew there were so many types of anemia. I alayws thought iron deficiency was just the cause of all anemia. I was diagnosed with it as a young woman, but was unable to tolerate the iron supplements well, so I would take half a pill and amp up my broccoli intake. I also had problems tolerating pre-natal vitamins in the third trimester of all my pregnancies and would do the same. Learning that Vitamin B12 deficiency is actually an anemia was interesting. The intrinsic factor of the stomach is essential for B12 to be absorbed through the small intestine. When these two do not work together, anemia ensues. One thing I noticed, is that mainly anemia can be cured by diet or supplements. With that knowledge, it is amazing that anyone can let it go long enough to cause death.
