The most interesting
The most interesting inmoofatirn I learned in Module 5 was about sickle cell anemia. Sickle cell anemia is a genetically transmitted disorsder marked by severe hemolytic anemia, episodes of painful crisis, and increased susceptibility to infections. Sickle cell anemia cannot be cured and it effects approximately 10% of African American. Even though there is no cure treatment is available. Sickle cell anemia is inherited, which means it is passed from parent to child. The book talked about normal red blood cells move easily through your blood vessels, taking oxygen to every part of your body. But sickled cells can get stuck and block blood vessels, which stops the oxygen from getting through. That can cause a lot of pain. Many times while doing H&P on patients I ask the question about sickle cell anemia, but never really gave it much thought. After Module 5 I have a better understanding of sickle cell anemia.
