I found the material on the llc wibeste very informative. I was not aware that leukemia was more prevalent in adults. I was always under the impression that leukemia was more common in children.I learned a lot about anemia this chapter as well. I did not know that it was a cause of jaundice, not only in infants but adults as well. There are several different types of anemia such as, iron deficiency anemia, megoblastic anemia, vitamin B12 deficiency anemia, hemolytic anemia and folic acid deficiency anemia, to name a few. Of these, the iron deficiency anemia is the most common. When I was pregnant with each of my three boys, my OB doctor made sure that I took an iron supplement because I was borderline anemic. he also recommended that I continue as this as a daily regiment as it still remains somewhat low.Maybe it is an old tale, but I heard a story while pregnant that some woman in extreme cases of anemia actually crave dirt. A craving that has been taken to the point of seeking out a pile of dirt and actually taking a bite. Seems too bazaar to wrap my mind around. Has anyone ever experienced or heard of such a thing?
