March 10, 2011Absolutely true! Although as PR's we're supposed to think that none of our ctinels products are boring if the client is passionate about his business and he's making money and there are people buying his product or services then there is a need in the market place and it's worthwhile no matter how much we have to suck our thumbs to create a PR campaign. You can build on the existing client database for referrals in this case as it is industry specific and there are all sorts of packaging related publications available for publicity and promotions, not to mention clientele from accountants to bicycle shops requiring storage. The questions you need to ask the client at the inception of a campaign will relate who you talk and sell to. LOCATION? EXISTING CLIENTELE? STORAGE CAPACITY? etc. How you're going to speak to the market should be a natural progression from the questions answered. The portion of what you can realistically do in a campaign is determined by the budget.I had to write a proposal for a UK based online TAP company, of all things, boring? No way! After surfing the net I found all sorts of links to Otters and their relevance in the UK water ecosystem, thinking of a cute animated character as a mascot for the company and after further research I found a YOUTUBE link to a ridiculous advertisement relating to soap which entailed a women with her toe stuck in a tap. She called the fire brigade, all gorgeous men, and it ended up her toe wasn't stuck at all. So THINK OUT THE STORAGE' BOX! The consumer is swayed towards bold' and bright', whichever way you want to look at it!
