About a year ago, a friend I work with snudedly had intense pain in her back and she felt nauseated. She went to the doctor, and she was diagnosed with cholecystitis. Her cholecystitis was severe enough, that the doctors opted for removal of her gallbladder, which is known as a cholecystectomy. If not removed, severe complications could have occured. Such as, obstruction of blood flow caused by swelling. A lack of blood flow could cause tissue death, and with tissue death, gangrene will arise. Also, if not treated, cholecystitits could rupture and cause peritonitis.
