Thanks so much for this in-depth review, Trisha. I made it all the way to the Invisible Shoe sppihong cart a couple of weeks ago caught up in the excitement of buying some huaraches. I've since throttled back and while the jury is still out and I may take the leap you've at least given me food for thought as to some of the concerns I may have. I, too, run in Vibrams, and if the conditions are right, I take them off and run in bare feet (parks, grass, smooth pavement). I'm happy with both those options, though having an in-between alternative seems appealing. If I do order a pair, you've convinced me I need to go the extra step and let them make them for me. I never even mastered sock puppets in 3rd grade, so I do wonder about the sandals for just general walking around purposes also. I'm a writer, so I get to work from home and, most often, do so barefoot. I wonder if the Huaraches are a suitable sub for flip-flops or if they are more just for running. I've not yet braved the glares by wearing my Vibrams anywhere but on running/hiking excursions. Good for you for wearing them to the mall! Thanks again for your insight and your blog in general. Always good to find another like-minded runner out there. Tommy
