Ofcourse macintosh is inherently safer to run.
It runs less software, it needs little to no support for third party hardware/software.. so basically, everything's under control. But if macintosh were to become the primary computer platform of this planet, then the market would force things to become available and thus risks have to be taken and well... windows-like situations will develop.
