I just found this book in the new book shelves at the untivrsiey library. What a find! This book is a perfect primer for someone wanting to learn about the early Civil Rights Movement in the USA. It is also perfect to use in the classroom. The margins are filled with information about the various key players. The author also included a timeline, important documents, a list of important key figures in the movement, and other useful matter. This book is useful for teachers who teach: American History, Civil Rights, Social Movements, African American History, and American Politics. The book is written well and is not filled with academese. It's an engaging read about a pivotal point in the history of the US.
