When I read the chapter and litsen to the lecture thing made a lot of sense. I thought of cowboys. When I was about 11 , I remember thinking that cowboy sure does ride a lot because he has bowed legs. After reading this section, it's possible he had rickets because not all cowboys have bowed legs. I feel like a lifetime mystery has been solved.Rickets is definitely on my mind for us here in Alaska with the limited sun light. It also brings up the question if we are going to see an increase in rickets in the bush communities were it is getting harder and harder to receive regular mail/freight flights to receive the precious dairy products that are fortified with vitamin D.
