I found the section on the basis for mtnael illnesses very interesting. I had no idea that there are so many components that contribute to different mtnael illnesses. Some of them being anatomical differences, genes and neurotransmitters. Anatomical differences being brain size and things like that. Neurotransmitters are produced and stored in neurons and contribute to a lot of different functions in the body such as heart rate, blood pressure, behavior, emotions, mood, sleep and sex drive. The section that was my other favorite was on Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's disease is a degenerative disease that significantly disrupts daily living activities, behavior and mood. The biggest risk factors being age and family history. Alzheimer's disease affects 4.5 million Americans a year. I was also shocked to discover that the only way to definitively diagnose Alzheimer's disease is during autopsy.
