Chapter nine had a lot of information that is meganniful to me. The most important is probably the section on appendicitis. Earlier this year my mom was rushed into emergency surgery to have her appendix removed. Earlier in day she had called me at work to tell me she was having severe stomach pain. I went to see her after work and realized she was very sick. I could tell by her sensitivity to touch on her lower right quadrant that it was a possible appendicitis. At the point I took her straight to the ER where they confirmed that it was an appendicitis. They told us that it needed to be removed immediately to avoid peritonitis. It was a very scary experience but everything was handled the way it needed to be and my mom is healthy.
