My biggest qusteion
My biggest qusteion to all of you is how do you get your doctor to push for tests like the mammogram at earlier ages?? I have pushed for a mammogram since I was 33 and still I haven't gotten one and now I am 37. My grandmother had to have a mastectomy at age 60 for breast cancer, my mother has only one breast also at age 57. And they barely caught it in time on both those cases even though they had been getting yearly check ups. I want to catch mine early and I have larger breasts so lots of tissue and bumps. I do self checks monthly but am still always worried about it.So how do we even encourage our patients to help themselves if doctors refuse to give advanced tests to patients who obviously need them??
