Ashley,If you're not too set on the film clips you've downloaded, maybe you sholud look for copies of movies on a roommate or friend's computer (since we're working on a project for class, I'm sure this is probably okay). MPEG streamclip was pretty easy to use for editing something that's already saved to your computer. You'd just need to copy the movie onto your harddrive with a jump drive and start editing.
