Yes NoYou must be either:a) severely sight-impaired (registered blind) or sight-impaired (partially sighted);b) in receipt of the higher rate mobility component of the Disability LivingAllowance; orc) in receipt of the higher rate of the care component of the Disability LivingAllowance; ord) in receipt of the higher rate for Attendance Allowance; ore) be under the age of 19 in full time education at a registered special school.Please provide documentary evidence of your eligibility for a companion Different local authorities seem to use a different name for these passes, e.g. in Barnsley it is referred to as a Carer's Pass' the following is from Barnsley Council's website: If you are in receipt of the Higher Rate Care Component of Disability Living Allowance or Higher Rate Attendance Allowance, then you qualify for a special pass that allows one carer to travel with you for free. This is also known as the Carer's Pass. However, they can only use your pass when travelling with you within South Yorkshire.
