I am with you on that. There is a definite cost to eagignng politically. I am way more passionate about the eternal and there is a real danger in getting too caught up in smaller, less critical stuff. I've tried to be respectful and true to the bigger picture God calls me to. There is a line where my passion for a particular viewpoint begs for me to be engaged politically. The other interesting thing for me personally, is that my political bent, at least recently is very much pro-Obama. This seems to put me at odds with many of my Christian brothers and sisters. I really enjoy the dialogue about how Jesus fits into that conversation There is a kind of Jesus would be a Republican thought that makes the rebel in me look at the inconsistencies between what he was about and what both parties are about. What I've found is not a surprise, right? There are lots of goats and sheep in both. Which leads me right back to your original premise His Kingdom matters more. He is our King.
