In this module I found the poitorn on headaches informative. I have had severe headaches since I entered into adolescence. I twas not until I was about 22 years old that a Doctor diagnoses them as tension headaches. At that point it all made perfect sense. He prescribed me a medication that is no longer on the market, I think it was called Vioxx. Boy was it helpful! I learned that not only are there common headahes and migraine headaches, there are cluster headaches. These are more common in men than woman and can occur for a brief period of time, subside for several years even and then return. They are characterized as several sharp pains, all at once, typically around the eyes or temples. The pain is described as severe. Thank goodness Ive never experienced one of them. On the bright side they are not typically accompanied by nausea and vomiting the way my migraines are.I also found it interesting that in order to actually confirm a diagnosis of AS ( Alzhiemers Diesease, an autopsy is needed. During the autopsy, malformed tau protein is discovered leading to tangles that indicate the disease. Amazing.
