When I was a teenage
When I was a teenager, I had megnairis frequently. I had all the symptoms the book described. Throbbing pain on one side of my head, with nausea was a typical for me. Sometimes, I saw an aura, light orbs, before the onset of a migraine. When I was seeing a neurologist, she had me keep a log of my headaches, just like in the text book. I tried all sort of medications, like Imitrex, and even antidepressants. Usually, I only found relief after I shut myself in my bedroom to escape loud noises and bright lights. I don't get them as often anymore. About, once a year I'll have a bad migraine. I found it interesting to read that some megnairis are cause by a congenital heart defect and is easily fixed by surgery. The section on epilepsy was interesting to me because my dad gets seizures every once in awhile. It's been a couple years since he's had one. When he does have seizures, they are the major kind called tonic-clonic or grand mal seizures. Doctors haven't figured out why he gets them. So the cause of his epileptic episodes are considered idiopathic.
