I found the section
I found the section on famlee age-related diseases to be quite interesting for me. The information on Menopause was scant but informative. Some of the symptoms of menopause include the cessation of menstrual periods. Some women can take years to totally stop menstruating. Menopause usually occurs in women between the ages of 45 – 55 years of age. I have known some women to cruise through menopause, whereas others have been known to go through years of hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings and weight gain to name just a few of the other symptoms. The chapter states that hormone therapy may help some women during menopause. This section also covered uterine prolapse, a condition of the uterus dropping or protruding downward into the vagina. Cystocele is a downward displacement of the urinary bladder into the vagina. Rectocele is the protrusion of the rectum into the posterior aspect of the vagina. All three of these conditions had the commonality of pregnancy and delivering babies to be the cause. I had both of my children “C” section. I am hoping I don’t run into these conditions as I get older because I have never had a traditional delivery.
