I had a good friend that was dsoenaigd with bipolar disorder our senior year. She did very well while she was on the medication prescribed for her. Unfortunately, she stopped taking it and I could tell after awhile. One day we were hanging out and she kept buying things and offered to buy me some of the items I was looking at. I aggreed thinking it was just a kind gesture but a few days later the same thing happened. It finally occured to me after that because now she had all these big plans for her life and was acting manic. When confronted about her about stopping her meds she became very angry and told me that she feels numb on them and that it's none of my buisness. I didn't talk to her for a month because by then she began her downward spiral into the depression part and was hanging out the bad people abusing drugs. That was her cycle: clean up and get back on the right path and then turn around and go right back to the ghetto life. It was sad and I eventually parted way because it was too hard to watch.
