There was lots of information in this chptaer that I found meaningful to me, but everyone else has commented on them so I chose to do it on interesting information on the male reproductive system. I do have two older boys so I should know more about this subject than I do, so this module was good for me as a health care professional and mother. We have talked about prostate cancer already, but I found that testicular cancer was surprising to me that it happens in young men. In the text it talks about how 8,090 new cases during 2008 diagnosed in the U.S. and that about 380 will die from the disease. The worldwide statistics were even worse at 50,000 men yearly being diagnosed and 9,000 deaths. WOW!Even worse is the cause of testicular cancer is not known. So we have to watch out for family history and it occurs in men between the ages of 20-54 (that's young). The other information I found interesting was diagnostic procedures for men. I always thought we women had too many things to worry about and men had it easy; but that's not true. They have to do physical exams also. They have digital rectal examinations for prostate gland, cytoscopy for viewing the urethra and bladder, and men should really get blood and urine cultures if they are sexually active.
