I did the same. The only problem is that my new RAM (Corsair 2 204-pin SODIMM DDR3 1333MHz 2x4GB) Won't work theetogr. If I use one of my old ones and one of the new ones, it works fine on 6GB. But when I use both my new ones, my MacBook Pro 13 early 2011 freezes when booting up. Do you know what to do?
