SET UP: I am an overachiever (duh). I graduate in May. I want DESPERATELY to finish in the top 5% of my class. It's a personal goal... I had ONE teacher try to screw me over on that goal... so, today was my last exam (Saturday exam...grrr)... I have three of my grades in... one of which is a MIRACLE (honestly, I turned the stuff in two days late due to my own stupidity in assuming the assignments were due at the end of the exam week, not the beginning... and he still gave me an A)...
Onward!
I got up around 11 and took a final glance over the notes, readying to go at 11:30, out the door around 11:45. I gased up, and rode to school. I sang along to the radio, then to my CDs, came up with two new GSR arts for the board, and got to school around 12:05. I got out of the car, and joined the group of people standing outside class.. well.. sitting. We actually lined both sides of the hall by the time the teacher came through with the test in his briefcase. It felt like a funeral...
So we took the final, and I was thoroughly confused by so much of it... left feeling a little nervous... but not dwelling on it. I ran home, grabbed fast food, and spent a few moments trying to relax. Around 2:30 I took off for Matt's, met him at 3 at his place, and then we were off to the movies. (Hold on, there is a point to all this... it's a buildup...)
We went to see Harry Potter 4, which was better than expected, but unneccesarily too long. Enjoyed the Ron/Hermoine tidbits I got every now and then... I hung onto Matt's arm, my head on his shoulder for most the movie. I hadn't slept well, so I was exhausted.
After the movie, we went to my Mom's, where she was baking cheescakes. The aroma started to stimulate my stomach (we were killing time because I wasn't hungry enough for dinner)... Anyways, we were there for almost 2 hours, and during that time I decided to look up grades... I could only miss 17 points (7 questions) on the final to still get an A for the class...... I missed 10 (4 questions).
I screamed.
I hugged Matt and jumped up and down.
I screamed.
I ran outside to where my mother was putting a cheesecake in the shed fridge.
I screamed.
I picked her up and carried her out of the shed.
I finally stopped screaming..... I am still waiting on my European Film grade, but I expect an A.... so I did it. The Lord blessed me with a bunch of Christmas miracles.
I'm still shocked...
