1 litre = 0.26 US gallons or 0.22 UK gallons (see what I mean about luddites - can't even decide which amount it is..?)

In the UK we don't buy petrol in gallons, we buy it in (very expensive) litres. Although fuel efficiency is measured per gallon...
And since I live near Miguel, there's no point repeating his prices. But in areas it has now hit that massive psychological barrier of $1.8 a litre. Although in dollars it looks like a random number ;0) But that's £1 a litre, so to us it seems scary ;0)
Of course, I can remember back in 2000 when there was a petrol strike for a week because we thought $1.50 a litre was stupidly expensive. We'd beg for such cheap petrol now.
