CURRENT MESSAGE

there is plenty out there aimed at straight people
how would that be not chosing a side? its not even ABOUT chosing sides whether or not you support people's right to be openly gay.

look at all the adds with man/woman couples in them - off the top of my head i can think of the ad for domestos cleaner those ads were always about the man having to do the cleaning and the woman being shocked about how well he did it. not the greatest example but you see what i'm getting at. i know ads dont SAY 'for straights only' but if you look hard enough you can sometimes see the implication

that aside, who cares how the ads are shaped RE: people's orientation? the product is still the same

the idea behind advertisement is to appeal to the audience to attract customers and interest. so they wanted an ad that would appeal to gay people, maybe they felt that there was a market for that.

maybe what worries those people who are complaining is that anyone driving that car would be assumed to be gay. well if that worries them dont buy the bloody car...
do people assume that people driving people carriers (allll the people... so many people....) are family men/women with kids etc?
